    Dear AMS Member
First of all I am sorry that I have not been in touch with you before, it is that I lost my Mother, (I know that is so bad of me) not so long ago.

I do need to ask you how you feel about some of the request that we are now receiving from the show organisers.

    1. Supply the name of the member & there partner (under the clubs constitution we cannot do this, also parts of the Data Protection act stop us from doing it also.).
    2. You will be required to sail a boat, (I do not think that any member that only makes static boats will be stopped from attending).
    3. That you will sail with other boats.
    4. That if need be you will change your boat frequency if your frequency is being used by the have a go boats.
    5. You must have all the correct paper work to hand.
    6. You will be on site before the show opens.
    7. You will not leave the show until it has ended.

The above are the most common questions that we are asked, so if I could have your replies to them, it will help me out for when I reply to the event organisers.

I can be contacted on ellisthefirst@hotmail.co.uk

    Hi,
I thought at least someone should have the good manners to reply so:
1.I PERSONALLY WOULD NOT HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THAT.
2.I WOULD ONLY SAIL MY BOAT IF I WAS HAPPY THAT "TARGETS" HAD THE GOOD MANNERS TO AVOID DESTROYING MY PRIDE AND JOY.
    3.SEE ITEM 2
4.NOT A CHANCE IT WOULD TAKE FAR TO LONG WITH MY BOAT
    5. AND WHAT WOULD THAT BE?
    6. MIGHT BE POSSIBLE BUT MAY BE INCONVENIENT..IF SO I WOULD NOT GO.
    7. ROUND SPHERICAL OBJECTS. ITS NOT A PRISON. ARE THE PUBLIC FORCED TO STAY TO THE END AS PART OF THEIR ADMISSION FEE.
WHAT PLANET ARE THESE PEOPLE ON?

Very sorry to hear about your mum, Fred.

My point of view point by point:

    (1) Having names on tickets is making life difficult for us. (I have had a late request for a ticket for Haydock Park but I can't help because all tickets are named. I wish that show organisers would trust us a little bit more!)

(2)Seems fair if sailing facilities are OK.
(3)Usually find this OK. Other warships fine. Fast electrics no.
(4)This is very difficult. I agree with Bill. (Actually that is one thing that is getting better with the move away from 40Mhz.)
(5)Fair enough it makes the display better if you have written material also. Does this also mean insurance? (Which I have through my Barrow club membership.)
(6)Also fair. Very difficult to set up a stand with the GBP (Great British Public) milling around!
    (7) I don't agree with Bill on this one. You have to help the show organisers. They need to sell tickets and a half empty stand on a Sunday afternoon looks bad. This is a problem with events such as Warwick which are a Friday as well. This needs too much commitment from us - one reason we don't have a a stand there anymore.

    David
