Hi all,
Just received this email..can anybody offer this chap any assistance? Please reply direct to him at p.aishni@gmail.com
Hello,
I am working on my physics extended essay at school for which I need to make around 15 to 20 model submarines to conduct experiments. The experiment will require the submarine to propell underwater at fixed depth from one end of a swimming pool to the other.
Their mass and the material with which they are made must remain constant. However, I shall be changing the shape and the hull texture (tread pattern) with a motive to relate and compare them with the tread pattern in the skin of five fastest fish in the world. Hence I need to make five model submarines each with different shape and five other model submarines which will have different tread patterns on their hull.
I researched a lot online and I haven't gotten anywhere yet. Could you please suggest an easy method to make these submarines (at least a material that can sink and remain at a constant depth and that can be moulded?) They all must propell with the same power hence I was thinking if I could use waterproof dc motors.
Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Thank you,
Aishni Parab
