Hi, I have joined the AMS because it seems an interesting branch of our model boating hobby. I am already a member of Stourbridge Model boat Club and unfortunately one of our members passed away recently and it fell to me to sell off his boats etc for his widow, proceeds are going to Dimentia UK. All went well until we found a partially converted submarine among the collection, now none of us have experience of subs so I advertised the item, a Revell 1/72 scale GATO sub, on e-Bay under item number 335360902365, I would really appreciate it if one of you guys you would check it out and let me know if "the price is right" it is always a bit awkward when doing these things for others when you have no real experience of the actual item! Many thanks Chris Shelley. (Of course it has sparked my interest in subs now!!!)
PS Should have said e-bay UK, sorry about that. It wa listed at £80, which was just my best guess. Description was as follows:
This is a rare Revell 1/72 scale kit about 70% converted to radio controlled submerssible operation using twin drive motors. Length 1.32m, 52" There are many You Tube video's showing similar conversions, but there are are no written instructions a such, so it needs to go to an experienced modeller for final assembly and completion. All Revell parts seem be be available, along with the original kit instructions. Selling on behalf of a friend. Much prefer collection after payment (Stourbridge, West Midlands) due to state of assembly and mix of heavy and light components, however could post to normal areas for around £14 if necessary.
