    Very interesting article, Richard!

Nice to see that he suffered from criticism by AMS "Ayatollahs"! (I think (and hope) that we are a bit more flexible nowadays.)

Now where is that Welsh steam coal for my steam powered "Resurgam."

I too would like to think that the AMS has changed considerably from those dark days, David...I think I know who the perpetrators were, but it's far too late to issue reprisals now. Besides, at least one of them has passed away, and the others are no longer active in the hobby, so I guess we can chalk that one up to ancient ignorance and move swiftly onwards.

Oh, and I shall measuring the internal and external diameters of the Resurgam's rivets, and I shall also need to see the stoker's coal shovel so as I can check the shape and length of the handle for scale fidelity...

    Yes indeed!

It is well worth downloading the zipped photos for Colin's article. His drawings showing how he made the scimitar prop and gear pump are an inspiration.

For the life of me, I can not get the download file. It will get to 9.2 and begin to slow down until about 10.4 MB and finishes off. The resulting file is only half of what it should be. We have a 100Mb pipeline and it is not even taxed by the download. Have you gents been able to download the file? If so, would you be willing to share?
    Peace,
    Tom

    Hi Salmon,

Glad you finally got the files. I had to split them into 2 bits less than 13Mb and in fact got an error message! But it seems the error message was an error - because you got them!
