Those of you who have followed my build log will recall I installed a vertical bow mounted thruster in Deep Quest...now why didn't I listen to Fred L who warned me about these things?

Originally mine was powered by a 180 size motor, but it didn't seem to do much, so I changed it for a 380 size. I shouldn't have done that...

I hit the power switch, the motor leapt into action, the four safety grill bars shot off in all directions, the thruster prop was across the other side of the room in a nano second, and the thruster tube itself was reduced to millions of tiny shards of plastic in half a nano second.

"Oh gosh and bother it" I said...(believe that, and you'll believe anything....)

Needless to say, Deep Quest is now minus a vertical thruster...

Seriously, reading about the demise of Kodak, it is suggested that the simple stand-alone camera is going to disappear. Cameras will all be built into other things such as mobiles or anything else that we go around clutching.

So how about a fob watch on a chain with a camera in it. Retro or what!

Like the new photos. Shame that the thruster went ballistic.

Funny you should mention that David, it's just been on the news here. The powers that be are suggesting that we all buy an iFone or something like that...at a mere £500 ish. I'll not be rushing to join the queue to buy one...

I looked up the specs for my mobile (Nokia N70) and the 3 mp camera seems to be ok, it's better than my digital camera (Jenoptic JD-C 2.1) which is only 2.1mp.

I've also got one of the 808 KeyFob cameras...that would fit onto a waist chain. So with my camera phone in my pocket and my 808 on a waist chain, do I really need my digicam?

Not really sure to be honest mate, got the bottom half to spray yet. As soon as everybody comes out of hibernation and we go sailing again...or when the weather warms up!

I'll video the maiden trip mate, fear not!
