Re: X CRAFT X5 WTC.
Well! It arrived - back end broken up. The rudder, dive planes and planes bearing thingies all broken.
UPS come to expect it tomorrow, as I insured it for $2500.
They must have really whacked it on its end. I imagine their standard phrase 'insufficient packaging' will come to light, and to some degree they would be right. But what does one do for these models, put them in an iron box? My argument with them is that the package was dropped on its end, the outer packaging was all crumpled up and the 1/8" rudder shaft bent at 45 degrees in two places.
Anyhow, I'm repairing the parts, they're good enough to make a mold of and cast new.
I'm looking at the propeller and it looks like a Raboesch 176-12 left hand 2" diameter.
Did the original boat have the same (left hand), or could I use a 176-11 right hand prop?
I think Andy said the rivets on this model weren't right (too big?). Does anyone know what would be scale and where I could get them?
