    Not really a review because I haven't tried one, but an article in the June 2022 issue of "Practical Electronics" points out that these are getting much cheaper.

    Could have uses in submarine applications requiring a bit of "linear grunt" e.g piston tanks, trim weights??

    they work ok, I use them for home automation applications like opening windows. the main problem is they dont have feedback so you cant set it to a position only select more or less.

    Yes, I suppose the downside of having something all-enclosed and compact is that it may be difficult to get a magnet in to act as a trigger for a Hall switch proportional circuit e,g

    these are the linear servos i was hoping to get three of to see if i could make them work together to move a piston for a ballast tank... at $100 a pop it would make for an expensive ballast tank, but not beyond the realm of possibility.
