So, I have finally gotten enough free time to actually start the build on this... again...
First of, a little info. This is a 1/32nd scale type II U-Boat... hard to tell which one, doing the math, it is somewhere around a B or C revision. it is too big to be an A revision. over all length is a little over 52" (133cm)
I bought a set of molds from a gentleman here in the States (colonies?) several years ago, and made a boat from them then, later selling it off. promised myself i would make another one some time... well, over a decade later, it is now time.
I started on the hull 2 years ago, then got a commission to build a us fleet sub, which took me away from that. I am not starting again, and having just finished the fleet sub, i will switch gears and work on the scratch wtc so i don't get burned out working on two hulls back to back.
Current set of pictures show the setup work for the wtc. I have an engel 500ml piston tank that i am modifying for a brushless motor and a smart proportional controller (also custom by me, using an arduino and a brushless ESC). modified ballast tank, and also the pair of brushless motors used for primary power needed to have longer motor shafts installed, in order to make it out the endcap and seal. a lot of the electronics have been hooked up and tested as well.
next step will be to finish the wiring of all the electronics, mounting the motors to the endcap, putting the shaft seals on the bulkheads, installing the pushrod seals, and testing the main motors and their electronics.
