Hi all,
I can't remember when I first joined? Back in the days of Bernie Woods and Nick Burge who I both knew very, very well. Both now no longer here more's the pity, I was with Nick when he died!
Why did I rejoin? Easy to answer really. I retired a few years ago and gave up almost everything except breathing. I was a bit of 'a lost soul' and my partner thinking she was doing the right thing recently bought me for a present, a new Engle Akula with all of the extras!
I can't get on with it, all too small a scale for my nearly 70 years old eyes and I have ordered a 1:25 Type XXIII from Bob at OTW. I have built some of his before and well detailed kits but this time I will be fitting all of the Engle hardware and electronics. (Look out for future cries of help.)
I will sell the hull and all of the other untouched Engle Akula parts including the retracting front planes and the raising and lowering scopes and masts when I get around to it.
I look forward to renewing old friendships and if I can be of help to a fellow member you only need to ask.
Best wishes.
Peter M.
