    David...on the USS Shark, just aft of the sail, there's a large oblong shaped, deck mounted 'object'...any ideas what it is?

    Looks to me more like a foundation for something. This was about the time the Navy was experimenting with large antenna low frequency sonars.

    Strange, that's the only picture I can find of Shark with the mystery object on it...must have been very hush hush!
