Hot from the Furness Model Boat Club AGM.

There will be another of these popular sub days, hosted by FMBC on Sunday September 9th 2012. All sub enthusiasts welcome and it's free.

Now there's an early date for your diary! (Well Edinburgh got there first.)

Just a reminder that it is this Sunday.

The last sub event of summer with probably some good weather.

    See you there!

Just a thank you on behalf of the Furness Model Boat for everyone who supported the sub day.
We DID have good weather and it was great fun.
It was very nice to see some independent modelers coming along too.
A special thanks to Dave J and to Barbara and Molly for the catering.
We will be posting some photos and video links shortly.

They are very good pictures, David...some very nice subs there, I particularly like the O class boat.

And the little Robbe Sea Jet...that brings back many memories of George, my Ski Jet. It ran on a tuned r/c car motor on a 12volt battery pack, it went like the proverbial stuff, it used to spend a lot of time airbourne! I got banned from using it on our local lake, the local green meanies were concerned that it frightened the wildlife, so I sold it.

Yes, the O Class is by Dave J and it looks really good. (It won a prize at Haydock Park.) The "unknown" photographer had some very nice photographic gear and the results show it.

The full size O's look really good too. That was my first sight of a real sub on the beach as a lad somewhere near Portsmouth.

It was a very interesting mix of vessels at the sub day because we used it as a sort of catch up for events which not been able to run earlier in the season. They all sailed together very well - not least because of no frequency clashes on 2.4 and 40 Mhz nowadays.
