Question for all you mathamatical clever types...been trying to work this out for ages, now I've given myself a headache!

If the full size boat is 362 feet long and 33 feet in the beam, and the model is 53 inches long and 5 inches in the beam, what scale is the model? Any ideas....?

Quite a lot of old plastic models, mainly Lindberg boats were 82nd scale.

Basically to work out the scale if the original is 362 feet, times 12 is 4344, divided by 53 is 81.96blahblahblah

I know for a fact this is the LA......

You're right there...it is the LA. Got the replacement deck today, just started trimming it to fit, much better than the original one.

I'm going to scratchbuild a new sail for it from styrene sheet, with operating 'scopes...

    How's your LA?
