For all the model sub related events which we have been told about have a look at this link for more information:

    http://associationofmodelsubmariners.com/pages/events.html

It is worth saying that these are all organised by Model Boat Clubs etc. and are outside our control. The only events we do under the "AMS Banner" are Haydock Park and Alfold.

So please have a look at the websites and contact the organisers before you undertake a possibly long journey. Please express your gratitude to the organisers, particulary since they are usually free of charge.

If you haven't been before have a look at the photos of events section on here and they will give you an idea of what to expect.

We would like to thank all the organisers of these events.

They are great fun and are not competitive.

However model sub enthusiasts on the Internet can be a little like fishermen and the "one that got away". So it is really good that people attend these events. If you haven't seen it and seen it working then it probably doesn't exist!

Just a follow up to these:

    - Norwich is the weekend of 22 & 23 July.)

    - Barrow in Furness MBC website is:

We have again booked the AMS stand at the Haydock Park Model Boat Convention (the race course) (26 & 27 August). Good chance to get together, exhibit your model and maybe win prizes! (More info shortly)

Model Sub Related Events for 2017 Empty Dates??

Post  John Wrennall Sun Feb 19, 2017 11:00 am

    Hi all

Just had a comment from a friend about the website

    http://associationofmodelsubmariners.com/pages/events.html

Some of these dates don't look right (weekends - Sunday and Monday?)

They're only a day out and common sense SHOULD prevail BUT.....

Hi John, thanks for spotting this, I must of uploaded the wrong page(back up page of last years dates) when updating the events page last month. feeling embarrassed.

Page is now showing the correct days.

    Cheers

    Hi Tim.
I've been comparing the dates with those on the Ticker-tape and there is still some discrepancy,
    i.e. papplewick 27-28 March OR 16-17 April
Norwich 23-24 July OR 22-23 July

Sorry if it seems that I'm nagging.

    Hi John,

I've double checked on facebook for Papplewick and its showing as 16 April - 17 April and Norwich weekend is the 22 & 23 July but can't see it listed on their website. will confirm.

    Cheers for checking :)

Model Sub Related Events for 2017 Empty If you happen to be in Southern California March 25th we are having a fun run for submarines

Post  salmon Fri Mar 17, 2017 9:33 am

Join some bubbleheads in southern California to watch or run some subs.

SATURDAY, MARCH 25th at the model boating pond (third pond to the right) of the YORBA REGIONAL PARK (7600 E. La Palma) 714-973-6615 or 714-973-6838; yorbapark@ocparks.com) in Anaheim. It'll cost you at least $5 to get in the gate of the park.

A whole lot of fun and incredibly clear water! Come by if you are in the area to either watch or run a sub. We will be there as soon as the park opens (7:30AM) until the afternoon.

Finally, a beautiful model of a French GRONDIN. Operated by a gent called Chris using a Turnigy with a 434 RF module and Arduinos in his boats. Unfortunately no further info as he left while I was rescuing my sub but if you are reading this Chris then would you post further info about the boat and internals? - Thanks

As far as I know it is all going ahead and I know several people who are going. (I last went this Spring.)

Best advice is when in doubt contact the Organizer. (Rob Fowler). Send me a pm if you would like his email address - he replies very promptly.

    Enjoy the event!
