Model Boat Convention, Haydock Park (Near Warrington) 23/24 August 2014

An early notification of this regular and well-respected event. Lots of model boats and model traders all together in the very good facilities of this race course. (Even a couple of small pools which are fine for smallish subs.)

The AMS have a stand and all AMS members are invited to display their latest pride and joy. (Seriously we have received a number of prizes over the years. ) The theme this year is Naval Vessels and Submersibles which is right up our street.

You can obviously just turn up and pay for the event even if you are not an AMS member but if you wish to exhibit you need to be an AMS member and you will need a (free) exhibitors pass and I will need your name several weeks beforehand to obtain this for you.

So there we go, your chance to participate and maybe win a prize. (I must admit that I have yet to win anything but the show is a very good venue, good social gathering and it is one of the few occasions in the year when we meet up as the AMS at a show.

Hi all AMS members,
I will be seeing all the Haydock Park "Regulars" at Norwich but if any other AMS members would like to enter a model for the competition or obtain an Exhibitors pass please contact me asap.

For non-AMS members looking-in it is worth knowing that there will be quite a large sub presence at that show, with daily pool demos.

David Forrest Hi Alf, I have just spoken with "Arthur the organiser". Your Bluebird model will be on it's own table at the end of the AMS tables. I need to sort out some more details of your entry of the Biber and Seehund. It they are completely scratch-built, working models (with a photo of them sailing to prove it),then say "YES".

David Forrest Hi to all the AMS exhibitors. The exhibitors passes arrived this morning and I will be posting them today. Alf - your entries (Biber and Seehund are in and Bluebird has it's own table specified at the end of the AMS stand. Please bring some small submarines for the demonstration pond, if you can.
