Re: Brighton Modelworld...
Hi Dick and everyone
As this is an open forum I have to be careful about what I say.and any thing I say or wright is my opinion and not that of the A.M.S committee.
for the last month I have been with out a P/C, and still am, in answer to Dick's question I have not made any inquires with regards to Brighton, the thing is who of us can commit to three days at the show, I know that the last time I attended the event only Dave Wright and myself could do the three days, Alf did part of the Sat and Sun, a member from Maidstone made it for the Sat (sorry that I can not renumber your name) and the only working boats were Davies.
The thing is the organizers of these shows need clubs to have more than two/three members attending, or they think that the club is so small it will not be around for long and therefor will not invite them again.
Going back to Brighton I do not know if they are going to help with any out off pocket expenses, and I would think that it would be too late to book a sport for 2014 now.
Going on the number of members attending the A.G.M this year in Norwich I now think that most of us look at the cost to attend an event, and only attend the ones local to them. if you look at the event that the Dabbler are putting on next year so far I have not received any inquires, and it being a new show for 2014 I would have thought that some one, member or nonmember would have sent me some form of inquire.so I think that this answers your question.
