Royal Navy Submarine Museum
Today at the Museum we had a very important guest- 92 year old Vernon 'Ginger' Coles DSM who was a member of the crew of our very own X24 and had a lot of X-Craft experience during WW2.
He was being interviewed by Meridian tv for a piece coming up in the next couple of weeks about the COPP (Combined Operations Pilotage Parties) on Hayling Island which operated in the run up to D-Day to survey the Normandy beaches.
A true hero, a charming man and a story about underpants which should not be missed!
