U3008 brass plaque Empty U3008 brass plaque

Post  warspoils Tue Aug 06, 2019 3:49 pm

Hi I found a brass plaque, 180mm x 105mm with details of a type 21 u boat, U3008, it appears to be from a boat that surendered to the Americans at the end of the war, they did some evaluation studies and after a couple of years used it for target practice and sunk it, it was then raised and sold for scrap, any thoughts on the plaque

If that's the original commissioning plaque, it's solid gold in some circles. I hope you're getting some professional appraising.

The Internet is your fiend. Look up 'auction house', 'antiquity broker', 'appraiser', etc.
