U Boat visits to North Devon(UK) in World War 2

Post  david f on Sat May 20, 2017 11:35 am

An interesting (and slightly scary for Brits anyway!) article in the April 2017 issue of Marine Modelling International magazine.

Apparently some 7 or 8 U boats called in near Ilfracombe in 1941 mainly for water replenishment. (Much safer to do this than head back to their bases in France.)
