I think there is/was a USA equivalent, but last time I looked some years ago it seemed to be a big nuclear boat so I think all you see is the crew quarters.
I did actually use it for work some time back to give an insight into the rugged build quality needed for a possible submarine equipment contract (we didn't win it).
