Have been building models for approx. 50yrs am now 71. Have two at present one MGB WW11 this is a Fairmile dog boat 3.5 mtrs by 1.2mtrs powered by three electric motors,I have also recently acquired a Robbe U-Boat U-47, which I am at present trying to submerge. I live on a houseboat on a marina so everyday is a sailing day,only problem is the water is very murky,and the depth varies from 4ft to 10ft with a very muddy bottom.Would appreciate any advise on this subject. The sub is a dynamic diver.Hope to see you all at the Haydock show in August.

Hi there and welcome Barrie.
Would I be correct in guessing Fettlers Wharf??
( A great name if you like tinkering)
Two other local waters/clubs nearby are Southport and Ribble(at Leyland) but are mainly surface boats, only a few submariners....
Ormskirk Club have a pond on a golf club but I would NOT recommend it for Subs.
There will be an AMS stand at Haydock in August, Looking forward to meeting you.
if the U47 build is non standard then a few photos of your internals (the sub's I mean) it would help with any advice

Good morning John,, Yes you are correct its Fettlers Wharf Marina. Unable to supply photos at present as I,m waiting for the grandchildren to visit to show me how its done. The sub is a standard model,powered by two 6v SLA batt. have added extra ballast to bring the water line down to just below deck level,this has improved the operation.Now its just a case of matching the speed with the rear dive planes.If there are anymore suggestions I would be glad to try them.
