Having read David's article on building raising periscopes, I thought I'd offer my idea on the subject. I don't claim it's my own invention, it was the culmination of a night in Bernie's front room talking submarine stuff, a delicious meal cooked by Bernie's wife Anita, a bottle of scotch, and in the company of Dave Stevens.

The idea was used on U-117 back in the 80's, and worked pretty well for something so simple.

The diagrams should be more or less self explaining, I hope...and it should be very easy to modify for different types of boat.

Perhaps a use for the cork from the Scotch bottle also!
