Re: A1 Down Under Models - Contact !
The price he charges for a basic wtc, he's probably sunning himself on some exotic island somewhere!

Re: A1 Down Under Models - Contact !
I contacted him through his eBay postings about 2 weeks ago
Compared to other companies his prices are cheap for WTC's
I thought.
Has anyone used his WTC's??
I have just got an OTW S class so as looking into WTC's for it

Re: A1 Down Under Models - Contact !
I've just had a quick look through the prices A1 charges for a cylinder...these are just a tube with two end caps, a water pump and a built in ballast tank, nothing fancy...£200+
I bought a twin piston tank module for the Skipjack, c/w motors, switches, drive motor in it's own wtc, all external waterproof linkages, servo trays all wired and ready to go for much less than that, and mine was custom designed and made for my boat.
I'm not permitted to state on an open forum who makes these modules, but if you like to contact me personally I'll give you the guy's phone number, he will be building these to order very soon. Prices will be determined by the amount of pre fabrication you ask to be done and the size of the module, but they will be much cheaper.

Re: A1 Down Under Models - Contact !
Thanks Richard,
Will send you a PM
The problem I have is its a BIG boat so may resort to building my own
WTC for it as I have been told by several people including the manufacturer it needs 2 litres
Of ballast to get it down
Thanks
Colin

Re: A1 Down Under Models - Contact !
Understood, that is a big old boat...my module will fit the Skipjack, the MMB LA class, the R&R Resolution, and several others simply by extending the piston tank length.
One chap I know has a double tank version in a huge Typhoon, and does it ever work well...

I have just heard from Jim at A1DownUnder and all is well with him. I contacted him via ebay messaging - maybe he looks at that more often!

Re: A1 Down Under Models - Contact !
Nice one Geoff...one little tip, check that the waterproof push rods have the tiny O ring inside, I nearly lost my little Kilo due to one of the push rods missing that vital little O ring. Not Mark's fault, just one of those things I guess. He must see hundreds of the things, so one missing O ring isn't bad.
He also made the end caps for the wtc in my first LA, they were really well made...about £25 the pair, I think.
Look forward to seeing some pictures soon.
Compliments of the season to you and yours...
