Forgot to add that NO swans were hurt in the making of the U47 Video but it was fun to see them paddle like crazey away dont know why but the swans really hate the sub
when it dives under them or near them

Beware of geese, they absolutely hate submarines...I've had geese go into full attack mode on U-117, and that was 9' long. They were not scared of it one little bit, and really went for it...they ignore modern type boats completely, but geese and U-boats do not mix at all.

That's nice Mark, runs as near rock steady at periscope depth as you could wish for. Bet you're well pleased with that...

well made up Richard think I might just make the periscopes a tad longer just so the tail pod is further under than it is on the video

    thanks for the comments

Think I was a bit to close to launch a torpedo here lol

Is fresh water David, well supposedly not very fresh at the moment though with all the swans just gone you are right though right by the river Mersey Estuary been cleaned up a bit now, last 3 headed fish was caught about 18 months ago ha ha pond was rebuilt by the council due to the old one being demolished to make way for a Morrisons supermarket which is the building site you see in the background

That was very nice of the Council.

It does look good, though - shopping and a good hobby combined!

I was just wondering about the pond being salt (not good for subs) - I think the ones up at Southport and Blackpool are?

I think the new pond at southport is fresh water but having only read about the place I am not sure. As to the nice council at New Brighton I dont think they had an option about 3 years ago I remember signing a patition about the pond if the redevelopment went ahead just glad that they rebuilt the pond supposidly it covers the same area as the old one BUT the old one was a nice shape not just square and wasnt as deep as this one buy hay beggers cant be choosers and all that at least its free to use

    Regards Mark

    Nice of Morrisons then!

I haven't been down your way for a bit - last time I was on your side of the Mersey was to have a look at the replica of Resurgam at Birkenhead. (I think it was then removed for refurbishment)

Very nice Mark...see what you mean about the need for clear water, though! Get your wallet out and have a swimming pool sailing pond built in the back garden!

She does look good on the water...'menacing' is the word that springs to mind.
