Germany was to deliver the "new" INS Dragon in 2019. Then is 2020. It still isn't here YET (Jan. 2021). Probably due to covid-19 delays(speculation). When this third Israeli Dolphin II or Dolphin 2, however you want to say it. It will be the 3rd of the newer, stretched out AIP latest Dolphins. That would bring the total of the Israeli Submarine Force/fleet to 6. Three Dolphins(gen 1), and three Dolphin 2s (gen2). The earlier Dolphins are getting old and Israel is looking to replace the old three Dolphins with a new DAKAR class in the future.
Anyhow, This attached article is premature. they jumped the gun as the newest INS Dragon has not been delivered yet(due any day now). If you google INS Dragon you will find very little information on this. The attached article has a video with some rare outstanding footage tracing a brief history of the Israeli submarine force. I FIND THE VIDEO TO BE REALLY REALLY COOL. It kind of parallels HI Suttons outstanding article on the history of the Israeli Submarine Force.
I think the video footage will be both interesting, and helpful to IDF modelers.
