I gave my Norbert Bruggen UB-16 a dip at Inverleith on Sunday and it went well. The hull uses a bayonet fitting and the dive tank is a cut down Engel. Only the rear dive planes operate. The crew and guns were left off for the exercise.

I never realised that was from a commercially made kit...it really looks a cracking boat.

    My compliments, sir!

When I bought the kit at Dortmund (some years back)it came from the stand in a plastic bag of bits as Norbert hadn't really anticipated selling one at the show. He even had to go home that evening and cast a conning tower for me! His best comment when discussing dive systems was 'Get an Engel tank - why re-invent the wheel?'. The website is: http://modelluboot.de/
There's some really interesting stuff on there.

A very nice model. I wonder if he has sold many of them - I've only seen the one that you have.

I really like the furled canvas spray dodger!

I just wish that Engel tanks were a bit cheaper!

I hope to bring my latest "home made" one to Edinburgh.

    See you soon.
