    Anybody seen this before?

    Post  Tom(ADMIN) on Wed Mar 30, 2011 10:10 am

Just found these pictures on the 'net...a most peculiar looking boat. But wouldn't it make a wonderful project?

And this (I presume) was written on the rear of the picture...

    Has to be the turtle

    Post  nigele(ADMIN)2 on Wed Mar 30, 2011 11:05 am

I think it must be somebodys interpritation of the turtle (David Bushnell 1776),the Turtle did not have wheels so I would think it sitting on it's transport carrage.

Sorry uncle,on looking again they are dive plains, which again the turtle never had, also it doesnot have a verticle propeller, but the write up certainly make it the turtle,so either the write up is not the one for that photo,or it is a very lose interpritation ???

No, it must be another sketch of an idea by David Bushnell.

Very interesting - they had funny ideas on hydroplanes. They are just like the ones by Garett.

Interesting to see Mrs Roosevelt. I heard a recording of her recently. She had a cut-glass English acccent! I think she went to school here.
