LiPo charging question.. Empty LiPo charging question..

Can someone point me in the right direction here, please guys?

My LiPo charger has two sockets...my LiPo pack has one plug. Does it matter which socket I plug the battery pack into?

(remembering that I know absolutely zero about LiPos...)

That's the same one I have - works well.

The sockets are for 2 and 3 cell lipos so just plug the balancing plug it into the one that fits.

The green lights will then change to red if the lipo needs charging.

    David

PS Hope you charge the lipo in a lipo bag and near an open window! I have never had a problem but there is always a first time! And always have a fuse in the circuit. (Sorry about the health warnings but there is a lot of energy in a small pack with a lipo- ask Boeing.)

Thank you David...that's me sorted out.

I have heard of some of the nasty things that can happen with these cells (re Nigel, a LiPo battery. and a bin full of water...) I don't have a LiPo bag, should I get one? I can use the kitchen windowsill as a charging place with the window open.

    Looks very smart, Richard.

It has never happened to me but I suppose the bag enables the you to throw the smoking bag out of your window. Problem is that in todays climate you will then probably be "shot down like a dog by the boys in blue!"

But a small loss - technology needs to move on!

Seriously though, lipos are very useful for subs of small and medium size. Lots of space saving and lots of design flexibility because of their low weight.

I'd rather be safe than sorry, David...belt and braces approach. I've seen the damage an exploding NimH pack can do, and I don't wish to see that happen to my expensive LiPo pack!
