Happy to help. Hull damage can be easily repaired, especially if the hull is glass fibre. Does the WTC leak? (Immerse in water, blow and look for bubbles.)

Can you post some photos of her?

(If you are having trouble posting photos(a little bit quirky on this Forum) email me the photos. (Contact me first on PM for my email address.))

These are the photos that Stan from Florida has sent over.
Can anyone recognize the origins of the model?
(I have also posted Stan's videos of hull and WTC over on Facebook. I have also asked him to post full length photos of the hull and WTC)

Looks like a 1/72 Revell Type VII. With a D&E fittings kit (David Merriman).
    Nice!

    Wow, that was quick Tom!

I was thinking that too but I am not good on anything that is not scratch built Help with 1:48 scale WW2 German U boat 1f609

From what Stan said in his email, I think my suggestion to also join the SubCommittee went down well.

There must be a lot of model sub activity in Florida. Sunshine, swimming pools. 9 deg Celsius here so I am envious!

    Stan,

we can verify that it is in fact a 1/72 scale boat with the following info:

1/72 - length will be somewhere near 36"
1/48 - length will be somewhere near 54"
1/32 - length will be somewhere near 82"

based on photos here and videos on facebook, it is a 1/72 scale type VII (revell plastic model kit) with a david merriman "sub-driver" wtc. I have one of those sitting in a box on a shelf in my workshop, waiting to be built as a static model, and my parts look identical to the pictures here.
